Hawaii

Hawaii

Does the recent earthquake in Hawaii scare you at all to vacation there?  I gotta admit, I use to dream about a Hawaii vacation.  My husband went before we ever met, and I've seen some amazing pictures that really made me want to go. But hearing about the earthquake made me wonder if an earthquake could trigger a volcano.  It's a little scary.

Not at all

Not really. Wasn't that bad anyways. For all that matters you couldn't go to the US (earthquakes in the west, hurricanes in the east, rednecks in between) anywhere near the caribbean (Hurricanes), Southeast Asia (Tsunamis), East Africa (Tsunamis), West Africa (Warlords), Japan (Earthquakes), Europe (Floods and Heat Waves), Russia (Mafia), Middle East (Conflict), China (Pollution).

Have fun in: Australia.

If I can have the chance of

If I can have the chance of going to a place I like, I wouldn't be scared of these earthquakes, etc.

They don't come oftentimes in a month or in a year, do they?

Technically I live right

Technically I live right where two fault lines meet (San Andreas Fault and some other stupid Fault line whose name I forgot).

I haven't had an earthquake in a very long time.

I dont find anything with

I dont find anything with it. It's just minor quakes not those massive one.

Yes, believe it or not,

Yes, believe it or not, earthquake or not...not even a full week after the 6.9 earth quake rattled the Kona and Kohala Coast on Sunday 10/15/06 the 2006 Hawaii Ironman,In the days before the earthquake hit, Kona was unusually hot and humid, and in the days after, the area got slammed with a series of torrential downpours of uncharacteristic intensity and duration. On the day of the Ironman, skies were overcast and no heavy winds troubled the athletes on their bike ride from Kona to Hawaii and back.

There is always a risk...

I've been through my fair share of scary earthquakes, but that has never stopped me from living. In the past year I've made trips to Thailand, China and Japan-and they've had some pretty big earthquakes--but I couldn't cancel on business trips because of what could happen. I like to think about things in a positive light. With every major natural disaster, countries are learning how to deal and respond accordingly.

Oh, and there is no such thing as earthquake weather. The Hawaiian Islands have several different climate zones, the weather is bound to behave erraticly. Also the Pacific is not immune to tropical storms and hurricanes (and it is never easy to predict the behavior of storms) which can impact the weather in Hawaii.

Now with all of that said. I hope the possibility of an earthquake does not stop people from traveling to Hawaii or some other beautiful location. I know I'm going enjoy my upcoming Hawaiian vacation. I'm really looking forward to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOI2WlefwzA.

Fearin the unknown is simply fear

Hawaii may be on the Pacifc belt of fire but that does not mean you don't go there. My sister did a vacation there with his husband and found good sights to see. They took pictures of the tourist spots there.

Fearing the unknown is simply fear. All you got to do is get over with it and enjoy Hawaii as it should be.
