the story in this perfume movie is quite original, think its worth seeing this movie. in this hollywood movies you always know that there is a happy end and only the actors, locations an number of special effects/explosions/violet deaths in between is slightly different, but this was really something else.
and if you cant follow the plot, you can still spot more nipples than in american softporn flicks - so your money isnt totally wasted
Whatever it is, I will really watch WTC, it is showing tomorrow in our theaters here.
Hey, what's the upcoming movie of Russel Crowe? I also like him especially in Gladiator, my kids just love to keep on watching it when they first saw the film.
I guess I really don't care about THAT movie (WTC that is).
Its going to be about the great heroism waving the american flag all throughout the movie. Generally I don't care but in those kind of movies its a bit too much for my taste.
These movies are set up to paint a heroic picture instead of asking some inconvenient questions. No doubt there were lots of heroes who lost their lives trying to safe other peoples lives, but unfortunately thats just one part of the whole.
All in all a throw away movie. Put on another theme and sell it over and over again (see Independence Day - one of the worst movies ever).
Nicolas Cage is not the best actor either. Although I really enjoyed Matchstick Man and I found Lord of War hilarious. Oh yes, 8MM was good too. But in any of those you could have replaced that actor and noone would have noticed.
Has Hollywood produced anything in the last 5 years that required you to activate half a brain cell? I really don't remember.

Hollywood produces entertainment. When I see a movie I don't want to have to overanalyze it. I just want to enjoy the movie. If I want deep, meaningful, and thought provoking, I'd just as soon read a book.
Marsha has a point. We all have different reasons for doing such. Movies are really meant to entertain. However, many people also take movies as a way to learn. For me, it would depend on my mood. As you watch a movie, many ideas pop up from your mind but then sometimes, I am too lazy to entertain them coz I want to be entertained at that time.
Nevertheless, entertainment doesn't have to be stupid and mindless. There are plenty of good movies that are not and that don't even take much effort to follow.
What I was refering to is a really interesting (and maybe unique) storyline.
Movies are a story telling tool and shouldn't be reduced to showing off the latest computerized special effects lumped together with a halfass story to make it somewhat plausible why you have to see something blowing up from 10 different angles in slow motion.
Today thats what it is all about. If you have the best computer graphics you will automatically have a blockbuster.
I am not saying effects are bad. If they are embedded in a good story they certainly serve a purpose, but I would prefer "About Schmidt" (no special effects, hilarious Jack Nicholson) over "World Trade Center" any time.

I don`t care either. One of my colleagues has watched that movie, and told us he did not like it at all, it was a waste of money and time. He told us even Jesus appeared in the end of the movie. Don't get me wrong. 9/11 was a tragedy and I am Christian and beleive in Jesus, but this seems a bit too weird for me...

no way that it comes out uncut in america: just way to much naked skin in it...
I haven't seen anything good in the theater for a while now. I don't know but most of the stuff is just mindless garbage.

Oh, movies that are not of quality aren't worth paying for if that's the case...
thanks for your replies :)

I read the book and it was pretty good, but I am not sure I want to see the movie (you tend to be disappointed after reading the book).
Russell crow(i am not sureif thats his name) he came in Gladiators, he has a nice movie comming out that i am going to watch.
Almost. Its Crowe.
I like his australian accent. Sounds very distinguished.
has anyone seen world trade center??
not too sure if i should watch it in the cinema or not....
boring, just because i know how it ends...

I want to see it. But I'm waiting for the DVD. I'm too emotional to watch it in the theater. If I'm gonna cry, I'd rather cry at home.

even Jesus appeared in the end of the movie
I thought Jesus has more important things to do then guest staring in a movie. I wonder how they got him. I hear his character is very much in demand.
