Travelling around Australia with Your pet
Now you can travel around Australia with your pet. Here is a site with accomadation and advice for travelling in Australia with your pet.

Can you travel internationally with your pet? Are there special laws? I've never taken any of my pets out of the country, but I've always wondered if it was possible.
Most countries will probably require you to put your pet in quarantine to make sure you don't introduce any foreign diseases into their systems. I simply wouldn't want to do this to a pet, depsite the obvious stress of being put in the cargo hold of an airplaine by rude ground personell (maybe the cage lands on its side?) and having fear all the time.

If this is the case, is there any other way that a pet can be brought out to another country? Like for example when travelling/staying in another country permanently. As for me, I wouldn't want to leave my pet behind with somebody else just because of this. Perhaps there is another way?
You will have to check with the country you are going to. They may have different laws. I remember friends going to Germany. They had all injections for their cats up to date and that did spare them the quarantine.
So basically you should check with your destination country what injections are required and get all your paperwork in order to proof that all injections have been given and the pet has a current health record.
Your local vet may have the information you are looking for.
In any case a quarantine of one day may be mandatory.
