Hello Everybody!
Hello everybody,
I just rediscovered this forum, going back over my bookmarks....I've posted a couple of restaurant reviews for anyone that ever gets to Miami.
I'll also post some on Tampa, since that is where I live, when I get a chance.
Take care
and happy travels!
Larry

Hello Larry,
welcome back. I remember you wrote the article on Rome
.
Here is a small tip for you:
You can use html code in your signature, so your website will be clickable.
Thanks Andre,
by the way, I notice the google adesnse Id code on our profiles...what is that about?
We'll get credit for the ads?
Larry
Hey toptraveller,
may I ask you kindly to remove those ads from my profile?
I don't want them there
If it is forum rule to have ads on one's prof ( I hope not..) then I'd like to choose my ads for myself and get the rewards
but the latter is not so important. Important is freedom of choice!

That was an oversight. Its quite simple, when I add something new I need to define rules where it will show up and where not. Its easy to forget one thing or another.
The ads are paying for my webhosting cost. Thats it. I removed the ones below the profile, they looked out of place. I think I need to go throught he signup process to determine a few holes too. Let me know if you find something thats not correct.
The ads are not here to generate a lot of cash and they cannot, since google doesn't pay that much.

I am still debating this.
There is an option to set up revenue sharing. It can be set up in a way that every Travel Article you post (or every forum topic you start) gets a percentage of ads served using your adsense id. For istance one could set up that 50% of the time your code is being used and if someone clicks an ad you get the money.
I am still debating, because I can only set it up so that whoever starts a thread gets the cash, which I think is unfair since a lot of people just reply. I don't want a lot of junk threads to be started for the sake of generating a few pennies for someone.
On the other hand the Travel Articles are a much better choice since the author of the article does most of the work.
I have just added advertising to this website and I need to let it run at least one month to see the numbers (if I can recover hosting). Exess cash is re-invested 100% (e.g. get new features programmed and buy some pictures from stock agencies ...).
Sunflower: I don't even get to choose the ads. They are being served automatically based on what Google reads on the page and who advertises. I have absolutely no say in what is being shown, only where. So if you find some other places where you would like me to remove ads, I can do so without problems. Please let me know. I always appreciate you guys feedback and I want to make it as pleasant as possible for everyone.
Hi Top
That would be very innovative if you can figure out a revenue sharing forumula....I bet you would get a lot of contributors to the site, because I don't know of any other site that is doing that. I think Blogger tried to set something up along those lines, but it is still in Beta ( don't quote me on that though).
Anyways, great site, and keep up the good work.
Larry
I made a new thread about adsense here.
Basically the proposal is 50/50 sharing. Let's hear some feedback on that thread!
