Tips for a smart traveller
Australian travellers have been given some good advice for when traveling over seas
Be a smart traveller. Before heading overseas:
- organise comprehensive travel insurance and check what circumstances and activities are not covered by your policy
- register your travel and contact details, so we can contact you in an emergency
- subscribe to destination specific advice to receive free email updates each time it's reissued.
I think this is great advice. I Always register our travel when we are going overseas in case of emergency. You have to register with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade before travel.

Somehow the subscribe link isn't working quite right.

I fixed your post on Steve. Here is an example. The correct link:
You posted:
Somehow the domain name got lost. Since I didn't know the correct domain name for the posting above I couldn't fix it.
In this thread, I have learned two lessons:
One is about registering when travelling which is useful coz it is important for emergency reasons. The other one is about typing links. Hmmm, two relevant things in one thread. :)
Thanks.
The registering is a really good idea.
As for the links... I always copy and paste them from the browser so I'll be sure to have it right. It's too easy to make a mistake if you type it out yourself.
