Work conference in Moscow
My partner has been selected to travel to Moscow in August for a conference with his company. I was planning on going with him and having a week after the conference to do some exploring. What are the sites we should see in Moscow? Are there any beaches? I dont know a real lot about Moscow.

I very much doubt that you will be able to find a beach though.

i dont know of any beach in moscow but i know the crasy russian like to have a dip in the river in winter.

I’m going to disappoint you: there are no beaches in Moscow. I mean, there are, of course – adjacent to local rivers and so on, but Moscow is not a seaside resort or something. It is a huge noisy city, one of the biggest in the world (abt ten million people!). And Moscow does not need beaches – there are a lot of other interesting places :) There are, for instance, famous theatres (Bolshoi Theatre, Maly Theatre…); one of the biggest existing picture galleries Tretiakov Gallery (“Black Square” by Malevich is kept there!), the huge Moscow State University (providing one of the best educational programs in the world), the Red Square (“the heart of Moscow”) with ancient constructions, such as the Kremlin and several cathedrals + Tsar-Canon and Tsar-Bell (they are huge!); extraordinary Christ the Saviour Cathedral, etc, etc… Moscow metro is considered to be the most beautiful one in the world.
