You seem to be watching the same shows that I am. I recently saw a documentary on Discovery about this.
Despite what they said there, I don't believe in any of the myths that reach from Aliens to Atlantis. I think that due to strange underwater currents and the profile of the seafloor it comes to a disproportionally frequent occurance of freak waves that have simply sunk the ships. Planes haven't disappeared for years and I think the main two reasons were, that the planes flew low and got cought and that the pilots have experienced a sort of hypnotised fatigue. It has been proven that when flying over the sea for a long time, pilots loose the capability to distinguish between sky and sea (they even look the same). It goes so far, that some mistrust their instruments. In earlier planes they didn't even have good instruments, so I guess the pilots may have gotten confused and crashed.
Sorry to disappoint all you believers

I have also seen this documentary, but not on Discovery Channel. I don't receive this channel here. Anyway, they sent it recently here and they seem to send the same shows in America and Europe....
I am not surpised. Today there is not a whole lot of original content on TV. Every show gets sold a million times. Oh well, at least we can talk about the same things no matter where you live.
I take all your Bermuda stories and raise you "Space Race, the untold story". I estimate it will be around 2 month until the show is shown in Europe
Very interesting though. Shows all the secrets (What Wernherr van Braun did behind the scenes, how many Russian Rockets exploded before they got the Sputnik up ...)
O.K. That was off topic. Sorry callis.

I havnt seen that documentary here in Australia. I have always had my doubts about the Bermuda Triangle though. Very hard to know what really happened. That is the same as Picnic at Hanging Rock, here in Australia, Have any of you heard about that. Three girls went missing and never found, they walked through the rock apparently. I have my doubts about it to.
There are a lot of urban legends and magical stories floating around. I don't believe in any of them either. There is no such thing. Usually an explaination can be found if someone cares to investigate and if we have the knowledge to understand the results.
Walking through rock can only happen in "Quantum Mechanics" (Tunnel effect) where particles can cross a barrier. It all sounds phantastic but the math falls apart for larger particles let alone Humans.
In the dark ages, when there wasn't enough knowledge about anything, there were a lot of stories like that.

iI'm not sure if I believe in the myths or not. It does seem some strange things are going on but investigations to date have ot produced scientific evidence of any unusual phenomena involved in the disappearances. So maybe that is all they ever will be just Myths.
I believe Andre's theory about the Bermuda triangle. I just think there's some kind of different current there that causes the ships to go under. I don't buy any of the paranormal hype. That doesn't mean I want to go crusing through there though.
And speaking of bigfoot, we stayed at a hotel once where bigfoot hunters were in the room next door. I guess bigfoot was hanging out in Illinois at the time. lol
Thanks Marsha.
I used to be a big fan of the X-Files and I find paranormal shows entertaining, however strange they are, I never feel frightened in a dark place afterwards since I know that such things don't exist. Our mind is perfectly capable of vivid imaginations and thats good, otherwise mankind wouldn't be able to imagine new goals and make progress. One should however know what is truth and what is fiction. I have seen people chasing the spiritual energy of the Inca in Peru.
I guess a lot of people are just gay, how else would you explain the myth of 4n4l probing by aliens (4=A). I don't think aliens are interested in our 455e5 (4=A, 5=S).
I think the Bermudas are a good vacations spot and I would feel in more danger in New York these days than I would on a Bermude cruise.

I've cruised through the Bermuda triangle twice now without a single problem. I'm a firm believer in the idea that most mysteries can be logically explained. Just because we don't know the explanation yet doesn't mean it's not there.
Even though I do believe in the paranorma because I have experienced it personally, when it comes to the Bermuda Triangle I thought I heard it had something to do with a vortex of energy not in a paranormal sense but magnetic sense.
Bermuda triangle is the last place I would cruise, I know there are ships that passed unharmed but I don't want to try it because the disaster probability is much higher. As far as I am concerned I very much prefer canal boat holidays.
I'm more a skeptic than a cruise goer, so I never really bought into the whole Bermuda Triangle mystique. But I do keep an open mind.
Does anyone know of any hard recent (past 30 years) evidence showing that it is more dangerous to travel in the triangle?
I'm sure the actuarians who have to figure out how much to charge to insure the passenger and commercial ships that travel the Triangle have a pretty good data set. I wonder how hard it would be to get one's hands on those actuarial tables. In lieu of that, does anyone know if it costs more to insure boats that travel through the Triangle?
