Star System in Hotels
I have often wondered what these star system thing is in hotels. You see 3 stars, 4 stars and the 5 star hotels. Do the hotels with the least number of stars offer services which are not as good as the 5 star hotels? How do they rate a hotel, when do they rate it as 5 stars? Also, who rates the hotels?

Generally speaking, the higher the better and the more expensive. This one here has 4 stars:

Thanks for that, Andre.
However, I do believe that one can get good service and clean hotels even if it is not a 5 star hotel. I guess, 5 stars, 4 stars are just like brand names attached to these hotels so that the rich knows where to go.
does anyone know the highest ranking hotel in the world, i heard it was one in dubai, it is a 7 star.
I think so. The Burj al Arab in Dubai does have 7 stars. I do not know of any other hotels that have 7 stars, but they are out of my league anyways

I only know of this 7 star hotel just now. Perhaps I have to check these hotels to find out how it really is that makes it a 7 star and the highest ranking so far.
