FIFA WORLD CUP 2006 in GERMANY

FIFA WORLD CUP 2006 in GERMANY
For those who intend to go to Germany this June:
WARNING:
From June 9th to July 9th Germany will literally be governed by the FIFA!!!
Germany will not be Germany then, but FIFA-Land:
-You will probably see Mercedes Busses with HYUNDAY advertising.
-Chief of OC Franz Beckenbauer owns an AUDI A8 W12 QUATTRO with the number plate <M-WM2006> (Munich-WeltMeisterschaft=World Cup). He will not be allowed by the FIFA to drive his car during The World Cup (unless he's got a HYUNDAI ad on the doors hahaha)
(And this happens to the land of the AUTOBAHN (no speed limit) , the birthplace of automobile  -shame on the FIFA!)
-The Munich Football Stadium which is known all over the world as "ALLIANZ ARENA" must not use this name during the World Cup. Instead it will be called "FIFA-World-Cup-Stadium-Munich". In case you get lost, just ask for the Allianz Arena...
(The FIFA payed no single cent to build the brand new Stadium, instead the money came from FC Bayern Munich and FC Munich 1860)
-If you think you can get a German beer at a German Football Stadium (sorry I meant FIFA Football Stadium...) you are wrong. The only Beer you can get there is some American beer. The FIFA bans all German Beers out of the Stadium and around a ban-mile of 2km.
(And this happens to the homeland of Beer....RADEBERGER!)
I guess there are more surprises to come and I'll keep you informed....
So, if you want to go to Germany just because of the World Cup, you should definetely go there this June.
In case you want to visit Germany and want to know what Germany is really like, go there later....wait until the German government is in charge again Anyways, inbound flights to Germany should be quite expensive during the world cup.
(For our American readers: Football=Soccer)

Hah

Sounds to me like Germany is selling out. Maybe I should make an investment and have the Autobahn called Andrebahn now?

To me this kind of commercialization is plain stupidity. Is there anything not up for sale? What happened to the pride of the Germans? I guess the government is willing to sell (or lease) everything for a quick buck?

But the worst offense is probably to sell American beer in German stadiums. Most visitors won't even know. When they drink Pi**weiser (sorry Budweiser), they will wonder why the German beer is hyped as the best in the world.

Why does the FIFA have so much power? Or did they blackmail Germany into agreing to all these terms so that the World Cup can be held there?

YOU GOT IT! (no kidding)

Bend over Germany

Interesting, that they can just tell Germany to bend over and take it.

What would happen if they wouldn't comply? What could FIFA do right now? Find a different country to hold the World Cup? I guess its too late for that.

Inbound only? All thos visitors are staying for good?
Re: Bend over Germany

In my opinion, the country where the world cup is held should be given the opportunity to present itself!

Germany organised the event, Germany built new football stadiums, Germany is responsible for security etc...The FIFA did not pay a single cent neither for the stadiums nor the security measurements nor any organising activities.

I can tell you what they would do and what they have done so far!

They would take legal action!

Here is an excerpt from a FIFA article

"FIFA has established a Rights Protection Programme (RPP) to prevent parasite or so-called "ambush" marketing activities. The RPP involves a wide range of initiatives including a global trademark registration programme, the worldwide appointment of legal experts, and collaboration with customs and police authorities in all key regions of the world. So far, more than 1,200 cases in 65 countries have been pursued in connection with the 2006 FIFA World Cup(tm) and more than 850 have already been successfully closed. Most of the cases were settled out of court with only 150 needing court litigation." FIFA-Media-Service

And here is an example what happened to Burger King in Israel (It's not just Germany that's got to bend)

"FIFA successfully obtained a prohibitive injunction and mandatory order of the Tel Aviv-Yafo District Court forcing Burger King Israel to immediately stop the use of images of the world famous FIFA World Cup Trophy that were being run on a local website and granting FIFA an award of costs"

According to the above mentionend RPP only the FIFA and their partners (a**-kissers) like Hyundai and Budweiser have the right to "decorate" themselves with the World Cup.

Germany strikes back

Germany - Land of Ideas

The German Federal Government started a campaign "Germany - Land of Ideas" in cooperation with German companies that share the goal of promoting Germany's reputation.

http://www.land-of-ideas.org/

Quote: "We want our guests to see the best side of our country - with the ideas of the people who live here. We want to show the world how German poets and thinkers, researchers and inventors, artists and composers have been making life more comfortable, secure and enjoyable for centuries."

So when you are in Berlin, don't miss the "Walk of Ideas" that takes in 6 huge sculptures on its route.

ttp://www.land-of-ideas.org/CDA/walk_of_ideas,241,0,,en.html

For instance the Scultpure " The Automobile " in front of Brandenburg Gate. The sculpture is a modell of the all new AUDI TT and got unveiled during the TT's world premiere in Berlin. World famous football stars like Zinedine Zidane (France), Ronaldo (Brazil) and Bastian Schweinsteiger "Schweini" (Germany) took part in the presentation and unveiling of the sculpture..... (Of course the Sculpture doesn't carry the Audi Rings but it is obvious that it resembles the Audi TT , so everything happened without violating the FIFA Rights Protection Programme - This certainly was a kick in the a** for the FIFA...)

i agree there

Lets see

Dunno. Doesn't the FIFA get most of the profits?

I guess it also depends how much cleaning up they have to do after the Hooligans went home again.

I guess with lots of people

I guess with lots of people eating and getting a place to sleep, Germany would really get a lot from the FIFA games. It is not only played in just one city but the games are spread throughout the country. So I guess both FIFA and the government of Germany would get much profit from the expectators and cheerers.

Germany

Germany are able to build new stadium using the money the will received from this summer world cup, Fifa will get a cut if there is any profit , it isnt garanteed that the world cup will be profitable.

In case you don't know, Germany have already build and completed the stadiums 1 year in advance using their own money.

FIFA

Hm. Seems like the FIFA is getting out of control. I just read this blog entry.

It's in german but basicially goes like this:

Some guy was able to snatch a ticket for Iran vs. Angola. It was the only one he could get. He was so happy that he created a shirt that read "WC 2006, IRAN-ANGOLA, I was there". He also put it online in case someone was as lucky as him and wanted a shirt.

The FIFA has all naming rights for everything even closely related to the world cup and send the poor guy a lawyer bill (it says 4 figures). Why is the FIFA going out and suing everyone who is having too much fun? How can they alianate all their fans like this?

I guess the answer is they just can. Its the same story with the Music Industry. If you don't buy from them you cannot buy at all. I guess this is called a monopoly.

Disclaimer: I guess I should mention now that WC 2006 and probably a whole bunch of words used in this post are owned by the FIFA.

Fortunately I am not selling shirts, pencils or mugs. But if you do, you should better hire a lawyer to research what words you can use on your cup. I guess the future will look like this (spelling errors intentional to avoid legal problems):

Warld Cop 20-06, for the best Sucker Ployers of the Warld

On Thursday I went to Leipzig where the Iran-Angola match will take place....and I took an interesting photograph....

Look at the tramway

They did not paint "World Cup" on it, so the FIFA can not do anything against it, but everybody knows that it is about the World Cup
