Newly Discovered giant Figures at Nazca - Peru

Peru never seizes to amaze me. There are still lost cities to be found in the jungle today.

Now, japanese Scientists have discovered a new giant drawing at the Nazca Plateau (see below). The figure has not been discovered until now, since it lies south of the Plateau and is not on the map of the tourist planes. The image is 65m long and appears to be some sort of horned animal (the picture shows the drawing upside down). The discovery has been made by analyzing Satellite pictures.

Wow, thanks for the news, that is truly amazing. I have been to Peru but was not able to make it to the Nazca Lines. Definitely something on my list for my next trip to Peru.

It seems to me the animal pattern is like a frog. I had never been to Peru before.

We don't really know why

We don't really know why and how they did this. The mystery did attract a lot of new age people who believed that the figures were drawn by aliens. All these people caused a lot of damage with their cars until the government stepped in and closed public access. Today you can only fly over the area or use some observation towers. It does not rain in that area, thats why those etchings are preserved so well.

Mummies have also been found in the area, perfectly preserved by the dry air.

Could it be some sort of wordshipping to the god by ancient people? Maybe the place wasn't filled with water at that time.

Europe's first pyramids' in Bosnia

A team of experts started digging at the site of a 3.8-kilometer (2.3-mile) tunnel believed to lead to one of the two structures resembling pyramids, about 30 kilometers from the Bosnian capital. As residents of the nearby town of Visoko eagerly watched, digging also began on one of ten 20-by-50 meter (65-by-165 foot) wells on the lower slopes of a hill.

Last year explorer Semir Osmanagic started initial probes in the area convinced that the two "constructions" were the work of builders from an unknown civilization who shaped the hill into a 'step pyramid' then coated it with a kind of primitive concrete.Article
