Top places to visit in San Francisco
I have found a list of "top places to visit in San Francisco":
- Bay Area Discovery Museum
- California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco
- Coyote Point Museum, San Mateo
- The de Young Museum
- The Exploratorium
- Golden Gate Park
- Happy Hollow Park & Zoo, San Jose
- Hiller Airplane Museum
- Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Center for Visual Arts
- San Francisco Zoo
- The Tech Museum of Innovation, San Jose
Witch ones are really worth the visit?

From the standpoint of a photographer, I have been able to get some of the best shots here:
- Twin Peaks for the best overview
- Treasure Island for the best Skyline
- Drive over the Golden Gate, take the first exit, U-turn and up the hill for the best shots of the bridge
- The little Fort on the San Francisco Side of the Bridge at the foot of the bridge
- Marina District
- Palace of Fine Arts
- Fishermans Wharf
- Lombard Street
- Pier 39 to see the Seals and the Pier
I am not a Museum guy. San Francisco is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen. I would not spend my days in Museums. The Aquarium is supposedly quite nice too. There are many good fish restaurants near Fishermans Wharf.

The Golden Gate Bridge has many great views.
Exploratorium is good for kids. It has many neat scientific activities.
The Warf and Pier 39 is full of tourists but is also fun.
Try SF's Chinatown for a little culture. You can also take a ferry to Alcatraz island and Treasure island (nice hike) from here.
You can also drive to Treasure Island. I didn't even know they had ferries.
Just get on I-80 east and take the Treasure Island Exit (stay in the very left lane on the bridge) or take the Yerba Buena Exit (stay in the right lane). If you miss your exit, you will have to pay bridge toll on the Oakland side when you are coming back.
