Looking for a Galapagos Cruise
My wife and I are considering a cruise to the Galapagos next year. Has anyone had experience with any of the cruise or tour companies that offer Galapagos cruises? We've researched quite a bit on the web and have found a couple companies that look interesting. We just haven't had too much luck finding reviews of these companies.
Additionally, what are the best times of year to go. We'd like to get wet (do some diving) and do quite a bit of hiking so the weather has to be good!
Thanks in advance!

Boy, are you in for a treat! We did our Galapagos travel through Quasar Expeditions and it sounds like their cruises would fit your active lifestyle. I went on the Evolution, and the trip was marvelous. The food and personal service was fantastic and the two onboard naturalists were extremely knowledgable about the local area. They were even able to tell me which boulder to watch for a Galapagos Hawk. We did hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, and a little diving. It all went by so quickly.
I see on their website that they offer diving cruises to Wolf and Darwin Islands now on their schooner the Alta. I would have done that myself if it'd been offered at the time. The east wall and the Pinnacle of Wolf Island are awesome places to dive. You need to be a really good diver because the currents are strong and the water cold, but you'll see hammerheads by the hundreds, sea lions, giant manta rays, whale sharks, etc. The best time of year to dive in the Galapagos is between October and January.

The Galapagos Islands are among the most beautiful and pristine places
remaining on earth... enjoy the amazing extraordinary wildlife there!
