Mini RV Road Trip - Any advise ???
Me & my girlfriend are planning a road trip around West Coast of USA for around 3 months, and to save costs on Hotels / Motels we were thinking of hiring a small RV.
Can anyone recommend decent RV / Camping parks, or advise roughly how much per night this may cost.
Also, any other advice or experiences that people may have will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Actually I doubt that you will save a lot of money this way. I would recommend getting your hotel rooms throug Hotwire and Priceline if you want to save money and get a smaller fuel efficient car.
If you add the cost for camping and the higher fuel consumption, I wonder if it really adds up to be cheaper.
The campsites wildly fluctuate in price from almost nothing to quite significant. I think it mainly depends on the travel season and on the location. Where exactly do you want to go?
You should make reservations in advance during the peak travel season, as the campsites are notoriously full then. In Yosemite its almost impossible to get anything even with reservations far ahead, while I can almost always get a hotel with just a couple of weeks advance booking time.
What did you calculate for the RV and the campsites? Don't forget the insurance you prob. have to buy which may be higher than that for just a Rental Car.
Keep in mind that you have to stay in a hotel once in a blue moon to get a decent shower and hot water.
In my Road Trip Article I gave my personal opinion on some hotel and food chains. Take it with a grain of salt (no pun intended) as those are my experiences over the years road tripping.
