Our summer plans are really still up in the air right now. I do know that we will be taking the boys camping but other than that I am not sure yet. Have fun in Vegas. You'll have a blast. Just try to stay cool it can be unbelivebly hot this time of year in Vegas.

I have been in Las Vegas a few times, but I never stayed at Treasure Island (I played at their casino though, but I kept losing ).

Hope you got a good deal there. I like the Harrah's. I don't know why, but I like their casino, their buffet and their rooms. It's located across the street from Treasure Island I think.

Oh, I love Las Vegas. Even if you don't gamble, there is so much to do there! I never miss the Secret Gardens of Siegfried and Roy, and I love the aquarium at Mandalay Bay.

They have stores, art galleries, museums, Grand Canyon tours, food by some of the world's best chefs, live concerts and Broadway style shows, and much more. If you haven't been, plan a trip now. It's something everyone should see at least once.

Has anyone stayed at Treasure Island?

I have stayed at Treasure Island.
It's a great place to stay and much better than its sister hotel Mirage.
I stayed at Treasure Island in 2001, at Bally's in 2004 and at the Mirage 2 months ago and I must say I liked Treasure Island best.

What was your favorite part about Treasure Island? I love everything. The mattresses are soooo comfortable, Tangerine is a nice club, Mystere is a great show, and the casino feels more inviting to me.

I went to Las Vegas once for a week.  I decided that I'd start with a few days in Death Valley, and ended up spending the whole week there.  I had just one day in Vegas before my red-eye flight home, and mainly just walked around.  I saw the sinking pirate ship show in front of Treasure Island, and walked around Venice for a while, ate at a buffet, and mainly just watched all the other people.  I hit the slots briefly.

One thing I liked was flying in at night from the east.  There is nothing but black below you, and you come over a mountain ridge and there are the lights of Las Vegas.  It's a pretty spectacular approach to the city.

If you want to stay in Vegas, I recommend stayin on Fremont Street instead of the Strip. Everything (food, hotels, etc) is cheaper, but the party is still hopping! When you want to get to the Strip, there is a shuttle.

a good idea if you are going to las vegas is maybe visit the sites around the area, like the grand canyon, lake mead, hoover dam, etc.  I went last year with this tour company called "lasvegaselitetours" and it was great.  They took us up in a helicopter and we saw the grand canyon on sky view.  It was really great, and something that you wont forget.  The price was reasonable and you can also get group prices.  Anyways its a idea if you interested heres the web site:

love vegas. i always seem to need a vacation from my vegas vacation though, is that just me? there's so much to do and you always want to stay up till the sun comes up. i just recently stayed at mandalay bay and really really enjoyed my time there. they have an amazing pool and the hotel itself is beautiful. it's a little ways down the strip but you can take the super shuttle from the hotel to excalibur.

That's a cool place. Im checking grand canyon this summer, you shouldhave a visit on this one.

This view/site made me cry for joy.:) The view was so touching that it really made my eyes teary wet.... I love to come back to Las Vegas soom.:)

I am going to Vegas for the first time and I am totally excited. I always hear people talking about how exciting the night life there. I am glad I found this forum. It has given me some good suggestions....I think I will check out Treasure Island for sure!

Hey whats the average rate for a room in LV? Im there for ~1 week in november, can anyone recommend me the best and cheapest :) place close to the convention center? im not looking for anything fancy, just need a small place with a bed inside. wifi would be a bonus...

Right now you can pretty much name your own price. Las Vegas due to the economy is not doing as great as it would like. Last time I was in Vegas I went with a touring company, tours4fun.com, and I had a great time because I did not have to drive anywhere so sobriety was not something I had to totally worry about. But, I would go on Priceline.com or cheaprooms.com to find a great price.
