Best spot in Florida?

Best spot in Florida?

Before I moved to Florida I spent almost six weeks driving around the peninsula, trying to decide where to settle.  I chose the St. Petersburg area, on the west coast near Tampa.  I think I found the best area in Florida, but I wonder what places other people like.

Sanibel Island

A friend of mine moved to Sanibel Island and she swears that her Island is the best spot in Florida Undecided

I may be biased, but I like

I may be biased, but I like the Emerald Coast Area. We have all the features of south Florida, without the population problems. Miles of beach and only a few populated areas. Only problem would be it gets a tad cooler up here, but some may like that enjoy seasons.

However, live anywhere along the Gulf Coast and you wouldn't go wrong. Unless your a surfer, the Gulf Side rules. Its like being in the caribbean without the crime.

We all have our

We all have our favorites.  I think the West Coast is going to change a lot in the next few years, though.  I see it in St. Pete, with new luxury highrises, and on Treasure Island, with mini-mansions on stilts where there used to be old bungalows.  It will become more and more like the east coast.  Crowded, busy, and more northern somehow.
