Kids in the Car
Any advice for kids who get carsick? One of my friends and I are planning a roadtrip this summer. Her little granddaughter wants to go with us, and we would love to have her, but she gets *so* carsick. Dramamine practically puts her in a coma--she's very sensitive to meds--so she doesn't like to take it, and we tried one of the wrist bands last year and it seemed to have no effect. It's not a fun trip for her if she spends half her vacation throwing up, so any ideas would be appreciated!

Would maybe half a dramamine help? Perhaps there are even some children's anti-motionsickness meds out there that may not knock her out so much. Also, is there the possibility of travelling at night, so she would be sleeping and hopefully not get sick?
These are good ideas. Both my friend and I are a little cautious about driving at night, but the half dramamine sounds very good. That may be just enough to take the edge off without knocking the poor kid for a loop.
What about those wrist bands they have now for motion sickness? I have never used them but I have heard that they do work. I would think that you could use these with kids.
I have heard of the wrist bands but have not tried them. I will have to tell my daughter about them because her one son is always getting car sick.
