How to Celebrate the New Year In Australia
There are many fantastic spots to celebrate New Year if you happen to be in Australia at that time one of the best and most popular is Sydney. Sydney puts on the best New Year's Eve fireworks show in the country with one of the largest free public events in the world. This year's theme is 'The Time of Our Lives' with a majestic boat parade, 'Harbour of Light', and two fireworks shows with shells, comets and other explosive devices fired from six barges and the Sydney Harbour Bridge for the midnight show. Sydney's New Year's Eve fireworks displays involve more than 3000 kg of explosive devices; approximately 11,000 shells, 10,000 shooting comets and a total of 100,000 individual pyrotechnic effects.

That sounds like an awesome time and a whole lot of fireworks. We do something similar to the New York Ball drop where I live, but we don't have any firework shows.

It is awesome to watch just amazing. Only problem is you really have to get into the city and around the harbour very early. A lot of people even camp out the night before to get the best positions as thousands of people always turn out to see the fireworks. My cousin lives right on the harbour so we have an amazing view with out having to leave the house.
