Frequent Flyer Miles
Do you use frequent flyer miles for travel? How did you accumulate the miles?
I've been pretty successful at accumulating frequent flyer miles, at least for someone who doesn't travel regularly for work. In the last ten years I've made two free trips to Europe, two to Mexico, and two to Asia. I accumulated most of the miles using credit cards, switching my phone service, and taking advantage of special mileage offers. Relatively few came from actual flights.

Well, I have had mileage accounts with most airlines at some point, but I keep switching the airlines and eventually my miles always expire.
I also thought about a credit card, but I am currently getting 1% cash back on all purchases and I figured I might as well use this money to buy a ticket if I need one.
So many people are happily accumulating miles, but I have never been able to redeem any.

I am using my mileage credit card to accumulate miles and I think I get worth more than a simple cash back card would offer, so I have to disagree with Andre.
It's become a little easier over the past few years as more and more airlines have formed partnerships. I accumulated miles on Northwest (a good choice because they don't expire) while flying on Continental and Delta. Since they are partners, I just used my NWA account number instead of my Continental or Delta number.
