That makes me wonder though, if you are a little, well fatuous. I mean, before you even think about marrying someone you better damn well know that person inside and out.

I am not saying thats true but things written down in anger are never as they seem and so far we have only heard your side of the story.

It is true that many tourists get ripped off in one way or another, are cheated and what not. But with a little common sense, those things shouldn't be too hard to avoid.

Also I noticed that travel is a very competetive business. Often times I have seen one competitor trying to trash the reputation of another with made up stories. Again I am not saying thats the case here, but you need to back these claims up to be believable.

I see. And those women have no brain of their own to have unprotected intercourse with this guy? Common girl, are we supposed to believe this?

Having just spent five months in Chiang Mai watching women manipulate men for money, and seeing the gullible men falling for it, I figure there must be gullible women, too.

Any woman over the age of 12 should know that if a man even hesitates over using a condom, she should run like mad.  What amazes me is that the reason given is usually, "I don't like them."  Well, are you going to like having aids, or Hapatitis C, or a baby?  If you let a man's likes and dislikes outweigh your regard for your own safety, you have serious issues you need to consider. 

I just remembered a young woman who used to post on a popular travel forum asking how to get permanent residence in Sri Lanka so she could live with her boyfriend and invest in his fishing boat.  She knew his family, had visited several times in the past few years, and totally trusted them.  The suggestions she got were all the same:  Find an organization that will give you a volunteer position for a year.  That way she could spend a year with her boyfriend while she worked out the residency problem.  No one wanted to say what they really thought.

 She decided that was what she was going to do, and was very excited about telling him that she'd found a way to stay for a year.  We never saw another post from her.  My assumption is that he disappeared from her life as soon as he found out no money was forthcoming.  I always thought it was a scam, and in this case, too, the whole family participated in it.

 Maybe that's what makes it work.  No one thinks a man's mother and sisters are participating, and assumes because they know the family, the whole thing is on the up and up.

 Except in this case, the condom thing should have ended it right there.

Apparently there are still people falling for the Nigeria scams or else those emails would have stopped a long time ago.

I cannot help but be surprised about the fatuousness of people. Some things are just obvious, but I guess if love is involved it becomes complicated and common sense is thrown out of the window all too easily.

Some people just have a lot of faith in others, no matter what evidence they have that the world is not a nice, safe place. 

I thought, when I started travelig, that I would get burned and become less trusting, but the opposite has happened.  I have met so many more genuinely helpful and generous people that they far outweigh the few bad experiences I have had. 

There are always going to be good and bad people in the world. My motto is to be polite, but to never trust someone until they have EARNED my trust--in other words, shown repeatedly that they are honest and can be counted upon to do what they say they will and, more importantly, to do the right thing.

I don't think women should be suspicious of everyone, but I do think we have to be smart when it comes to strangers who try to "sweep us off our feet." Sorry, girls, but Prince Charming only exists in fairy tales.  

And I agree--any guy in this day and age that suggests casual sex without a condom because it "feels better" is either too stupid or too selfish to pass one his genes.

The OP has posted the same article about every week, signing up with different user accounts and even posting pictures of people she wishes to hurt.

You got your point across and I should have deleted this post the first time you posted it, but if you sign up one more user account I will personally make sure that I get a hold of your ISP in Utrecht, Netherlands. All you accomplished is to completely discredit yourself.

Some ppl are so dumb...u think that im making this guy bad by posting his pic??? He is already bad and im just helping other women and warn them...i received many private messages from others who are saying that these kind of ppl are active all over the world, Thailand, Africa , SL....

By posting on many forums as i could...and by the help of other gals who also were involved with him , i hv succes...the tourist police is now after him....even today i got private messages that i should post on more forums, by european who lives in Sri Lanka and are there working . THANK GOD they believe me.  Also contacted many travel agency and mine fav travel ageny abt this, they take me serious too. I booked many vacation there and they know me very well.

You just admitted to spamming, again not a very wise decision. You have signed up 3 user accounts (all banned or deleted) and you have posted the same message over and over again, creating multiple threads on this board all about the same issue. Not only is this spam, content duplication ..., it is also against the rules of the forum. Posting a message ONCE is good enough. If people don't respond maybe they don't believe you. Posting over and over again will just make the people, who try to keep this board clean, upset.

Repetetive messages mass submitted to multiple boards across the net is SPAM and is ILLEGAL. If you don't wish for me to persue this (and get the police involved), you'd better stop this and put this to a rest.

Obviously you DON'T have other things to do but to spam this board. One last time, you are not welcome anymore. Initially people were sympathetic to your cause, but by repeatadly spamming your message you have upset many of our members.
