Tips for living in London?

Hi guys,

my name is Stephanie and I'm from Germany but right now I'm living in London for 3 months to do an internship and improve my English. Well of course I'm also here to see new things, to get to know the British culture and to make memorable experiences. Maybe some of you, who are from England or the UK could help me while giving me tips what I shouldn't miss? Because I'm a student I can't spend a lot of money and that's why I would prefer some cheap insider tips =)

I've already visited several sights for instance: the London Zoo, St. Paul's Cathedral and the Tower Bridge! On the internet I've found a website named www.discountbritain.net offering 20 % discount on these sights. That's a really good advantage to me because the London sights are very expensive.

So I would be glad about getting some answers from you!

Hey stephi if you are interested in seeing more attractions then I'd recommend going to the London Design Museum to see the Super Contemporary Exhibition www.supercontemporary.co.uk/?s=ticket-giveaway - Great one to see if you appreciate the great british art culture

Hi Stephanie! London is

Hi Stephanie!

London is great city indeed! I have lived there for several months and i thing I will go back one day to live there.

I suggest to visit The british Museum and also Salvador dhali museum, then  of course also greenwich district, it's very nice.

Don't  forget to eat fish&chips in a typical british pub, they are great.

Being a Londoner myself

Hi there,

Being a Londoner myself I would recommend some of the more intricate places like the galleries. The National Gallery is great but i'm sure its on your list already. Try the Kensington and Chelsea area for the V&A Museum which has some of the most famous pieces of art in it and there is also the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum. They might seem childish but they are actually very insightful and have plenty of interesting things to see and learn.

Hi taveltipsbcn ! We are

Hi taveltipsbcn !
We are visiting London next May for the first time and we will stay for 3 nights.

We need to book an hotel, but have no idea what is the best city
area to stay. We would like to be in city center, next to the main
atractions (if possible within a walking range or near the Metro).
A friend of mine advised me to stay in "Soho" area or "Pimlico" area.

Could anyone help us with your opinion regarding the best area to stay in?

Thanks a lot.
