I remember going to the first King Tut exhibit at the Fine Arts Museume in Chicago. There were lines around the block, and it was a big block. My friend noticed that there seemed to be two entrances, and one wasn't being used, so we tried it and walked right in. We had made a weekend trip from Cincinnati to see it, and it was absolutely magnificent. I saw the same things years later in Cairo, but they didn't have the impact this did.
It was really the first big blockbuster art exhibit, and spawned all the others. I'd like to see it again.
