There are plenty of entertainment and shopping options in Mauritius.
The Blue Penny Museum houses some of the world's rarest stamps and traces the development of the country while the Natural History Museum features an exhibit on the dodo, the flightless bird that used to roam the island before it became extinct.
Visitors can book tours to visit Isle aux Aigrettes, a nature reserve accessible only by boat which was once home to the dodo and today plays host to pink pigeons and giant tortoises. The Ile aux Cerfs is wonderful for bird watching.
Visit the Dutch Ruins at the Vieux Grand Port, one of the oldest settlements in the country
A stunning place to visit! I was there during July and thoroughly enjoyed it - there is such a wealth of things to see and do, other than off course just soaking up the sun and enjoying the climate. I would recommend that you have a look at these pages about Mauritius which also contain reviews and links to further resources.
