I saw a show on Travel Channel about some ancient temples in Southern India. What I really liked about this, was the fact that they said it was mostly neglected by tourists. Also the architecture was unique in the world and they were wondering how they built temples of granite in a pre-iron-age society.
I am also interested in India's unique wildlife (Indian Tigers).
Where would I go to see the temples and what is the best approach if I want to see Tigers? Should I book a safari or try some local outfit when I am there?
TT
Hi friend, It would be very difficult for me to tell you about each temple as you can say India ia land of temples. Almost every street has a small temple, people have strong religious belief. So check this site.

About Wildlife, March is the best season for tiger sighting, as its winter fall time and more visibility because lake and water spots generally dry up. The best wildlife santuary to watch tigere in open is Bandhavgarh - the place of Rudyard Kiplings "The jungle book", The second best is Jim Corbett.
Bandhavgarh National Park
Yes, a travel tour with a knowledgeable guide would be just great.. Although in santuaries you will get good guides.
So plan your trip and have fun
Thanks for the info. I guess I will get a better guide locally and maybe even cheaper?
I was also wondering about the transportation to the Bandhavgarh park? How would someone travel there?
Did you ever go there? I can imagine that tigers are very shy and that you might not always be able to see one. I think it would increase chances if someone were to stay lets say 3 days?

There are enough ways to reach Bandhavgarh

I have not been yet to bandhavgarh, but probably would be going thier in the month of April. Waiting to buy a gud camera with nice lenses.. no point going there without these as i am interested in photography.
The guides are provided by the national park authorities, and noone is allowed to go without them so no worries about that.
I have been to Corbett, but unfortunately missed tiger .. but yes 3 days is a good enough time and specially in Bandhavgarh which has the highest density of tigers.
