Quintana Roo became the 13th state of Mexico in 1974. Hosting the worlds largest resort city, Cancun, it is invaded by hordes of American tourists every spring.

Fortunately the tourists remain confined in Cancun leaving the rest of this wonderful state to be explored relatively undisturbed.
