Central America and The Caribbean

Central America and The Caribbean

"My favorite thing is to go where I've never been."
(Diane Arbus)

Central America MapCentral America belongs to the Americas and is a narrow isthmus connecting North and South America. It borders on the Pacific Ocean, the Caribbean Sea, and the Gulf of Mexico.

Central America is growing in popularity as a tourist destination while still going through political and economic changes. One of its main attractions are remnants of the Maya civilization; numerous Maya ruins can be found in Belize alone and are still being discovered all over Central America. Unspoiled beaches and an exotic wildlife add to Central America's charm and appeal.

"The Caribbean" really means the islands and island states located in the Caribbean Sea and some of its surrounding coastline. The Caribbean is the ultimate beach and island resort get-away. Endless beaches with crystal clear blue water await; reefs invite to explore the exotic sea life; and the friendly and laid-back people know how to enjoy life.
