Today, some language groups still live on their traditional land. However, many language groups were forced off their tradition lands when they were taken over for settlements and farms.

Western Australia is known for it's festivals that are held through out the year The Perth International Arts Festival draws thousands of people and tourist to its events. The Perth people are known for their friendliness and welcome visitors with open arms.
Some of the festivals to keep an eye out for are the Joondalup Festival held in March in Perth. It has music, dance and sport. Stompen Ground in September each year.
